              Yash Jain is a student at the University of Chicago studying Race, Diaspora, & Indigeneity, and Environment, Geography, & Urbanization. His research primarily examines the role of colonial histories in shaping and perpetuating the climate crisis with a focus on global south and Indigenous organizing movements as a form of decolonial resistance against climate change. In Chicago, he is also an organizer with various groups, predominantly focusing on prison abolition, environmental justice, and the displacement of Black and brown communities in the South Side of Chicago.
